The Latvian sand of Motocenter Zelta Zirgs hosted the 6th round of the EMX250 European Championship this past weekend of 6–7 June 2026, as part of the Latvia Grand Prix.
Spaniard Francisco Garcia had a perfect weekend, claiming the maximum 50 points with a double on the Latvian sand. In the first heat, after a strong start from Saku Mansikkimäki, Garcia took the lead on lap 5 and was never caught again. In the second race, he came from 5th to 1st by lap 3, also setting the fastest lap of the race.

Australian Liam Owens was one of the standout performers of the weekend, finishing 3rd in heat 1 and 2nd in heat 2 to secure 2nd overall.
On the Belgian side, Jarne Bervoets finished a respectable 18th overall, while Douwe Van Mechgelen rounded out the national representation in 37th. Two Belgian entries on the Latvian sand, showing the involvement of our riders at European level.
