Born in 2016, put on hold in 2020, relaunched in 2026 with a different vision – the story of Louis Racing Team is not a straight line. It’s the story of a project built step by step, on the back of its results.
2016: First laps
The Louis Racing Team officially came to life in 2016. The project was modest – an amateur squad entered in the French Elite MX2 Championship. No structured budget, no title sponsor. Just Tim Louis’ desire to race under his own colours rather than someone else’s.
2017–2019: Building momentum
In 2017, Tim temporarily left LRT – spotted by another structure, he contested the Belgian Inter MX2 Championship. A season that sharpened his level before returning home the following year.
2018 marked the team’s first real step up. Backed by Husqvarna Belgium, LRT entered the EMX300 European Championship. Target: top 10. Target reached.
2019 was the most ambitious season to date. A double programme with Kawasaki Belgium and Kawasaki France: a top 20 at the Enduropale du Touquet – one of the hardest races on the calendar, with over 3,000 riders tackling 45 km of Norman beaches and dunes – and the Belgian MX1 Vice-Champion title. Both targets delivered. LRT now had a track record.
2020: Forced pause
A Tim Louis injury in 2020 abruptly halted the team’s momentum. LRT went on pause. Not a shutdown – a bracket. In the paddock, everyone knew it wasn’t over.
2026: A fresh start, a new purpose
Six years after stepping back, the Louis Racing Team is back in action – but the project has changed in nature. Tim Louis isn’t relaunching LRT to race himself. He’s relaunching it so other riders can race in a structured, professional environment.
The target is clear: the EMX250 European Championship, the gateway to MX2 and the MXGP, where the best young motocross prospects on the continent prove themselves before stepping up to the world stage. Tim knows this circuit inside out – he has accompanied riders there as an FMWB federal coach, and understands both the technical and human demands it places on young riders.
Alongside him to build the structure, two key people.
Victoria Kefer is the backbone of the organisation. On the relational side, she’s one of the most effective people on the project: she manages social media communication, looks after partners at events, and co-negotiates contracts alongside Tim. In a world where technical conversations tend to dominate everything, having someone of her quality handling relationships and communication is a real asset.
Fabrice Louis, Tim’s father, provides technical expertise in a support role. A mechanic and suspension tuner by trade, he will be a valuable resource when it comes to preparation and setup.
